Tandoori Chicken Recipe
Tandoori Chicken is traditionally cooked in a wood fired tandoori oven so your woodfired pizza oven is perfect for this dish. You can create the marinade from a preprepared bottled tandoori sauce mixed with yogurt or use the recipe below. The advantage of making your own is that it does not contain the artificial red food colouring.
Increase the volumes sufficiently to cover the amount of chicken you are cooking.
- For every 1/2 cup of yogurt add
- 2 cloves peeled garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- juice from one lime or lemon
Cut chicken into serving sized pieces and marinade overnight. Before cooking shake of excess marinade and season with salt. Place the chicken pieces on a wire rack in a tray. I use a disposable foil tray for this because I don't like washing up. Place in the oven and cook until you have a nice char on the outside.
